John Alexander Martin correspondence and photograph
This collection contains some correspondence of John Alexander Martin to and from various receipients, in addition to a photograph of Martin. The photograph is after the painting by Kleckner dating from 1889.
John Henry Vansickle papers
This collection consists of letters describing incidents of the border raids during the Kansas Territory-Missouri border wars just before the United States' Civil War in detail, including references to John Brown, William Quantrill, Jim Montgomery, and Fort Scott. The collection also includes a deed to land in McLean County, Illinois owned by Vansickle.
John Hutchings correspondence
The first two letters are from Banks, who preceded Hutchings to Lawrence, and they describe Lawrence, the lawyers, and law practice in the area. The third letter written by W. B. West mentions Quantrill's raid and asks about job opportunities in Lawrence.
John James Ingalls papers
This collection of papers from a 19th century Kansas politician contains correspondence dating primarily from the 1880s and 1890s and concerning United States Senate business. There are also invitations and calling cards, possibly collected by Mrs. Anna Louisa (Cheesbrough) Ingalls.
John Lyttleton Dawson letters
John Lyttleton Dawson (1813-1870), served in Congress as Democrat from Pennsylvania 1851-1855; declined appointment as Kansas territorial governor by President Pierce. Two letters from John Dawson, 1813-1870.
John Turner Miles collection
John Turner Miles owned and operated the Miles Funeral Home in Atchison, Kansas from 1927 until his death in 1971. His papers consist chiefly of diaries, dating from 1922 to 1958, which document Miles' personal life and business affairs as a mortician.
Joseph A. Cody correspondence
This collection consists of Joseph Cody's letters to his wife, Elvira (Cable) Cody, and those received from other friends, arranged chronologically from 1854-1885. It also includes letters written by Elvira and those she received from friends prior to her marriage to Joseph, arranged chronologically from 1847-1853. Letters written by Elvira's father, Eleazer Cable, a nurseryman in Ohio concerned with the maintenance of the Cable nursery, are dated from 1837-1869.

This collection contains the papers of Kansas free state activist Josiah Miller, dating from 1854-1870 and those of various members of his family, dating from 1840-1912.
Journal and record of accounts of Royal Baldwin
Journal of Royal Baldwin, who from 1856 to 1858 was agent to the Kickapoo tribe in Kansas Territory. Includes descriptions of his travels and meetings in council with the Kickapoo, their conditions, and statements of accounts for individual members of the tribe. Also includes receipts, memoranda, and other items.
Judge Deanell Reece Tacha Collection
This collection contains the personal papers of Deanell Reece Tacha (including photographs, flyers, awards, plaques, videos, and CDs) from 1971-2011. Much of the material concerns her time in the White House Fellows program, her involvement in the 'Bleeding Kansas' sesquicentennial project, correspondence regarding her 10th Circuit Court Judge appointment, and various other legal correspondence.

This collection contains newspaper clippings collected by Parsons, Kansas Public Library staff dating from 1946 to 1950 detailing the state’s history. These clippings also detail the history of the namesakes of several rivers in Kansas and the geodetic point in Osborne, Kansas that served as the reference location for horizonal measurements in surveying in the United States for most of the 20th century.

Kansas Union Military Scrips
The collection is comprised of three state-issued Union Military Scrips, for $1, $5, and $22, issued to James Aitken, C. C. Johnson, and B. Allen, respectively. Thse scrip was issued June 1st, 1867, to "provide for the assumption and settlement of the claims growing out of the Price Raid in 1864, and Indian Expedition under Gen. Curtis in July and August, 1864."
